...In Persia first arises that light which shines itself and illuminates what is around... The principle of development begins with the history of Persia; this constitutes therefore the begining of history.

First Step in Building Aryan Nations Union

Active ImageAdoption of a resolution in which the United Nations General Assembly recognized March 21 as the International Day of Nowruz has been a new development in regional convergence among countries with racial, cultural and historical commonalties in Southwest Asia. The fact that in addition to Iran, other countries including Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan were instrumental in proposing the resolution and related developments, proves that there is a good ground for the establishment of a much needed political and cultural union of Southwest Asian nations located on the Iranian plateau.

The interesting member of that list is Turkey which has joined hand with other countries in Southwest Asia to introduce Nowruz as its ancient heritage. This is curious because the Turkish government has regularly denied existence of 25 million Aryan Kurds on its soil, calling them mountain Kurds, and severely crushed all attempts by its Kurds to mark Nowruz and hold commemoration ceremonies. However, its alignment with other countries should be attributed to existence of Kurds in Turkey, northern Iraq and Syria.

At present, there are various unions in different parts of the world and all of them have been established on the basis of specific geographical coordinates, racial characteristics or historical and cultural commonalties. Experiences of those unions have shown that they not only cement and consolidate regional convergence, but also strengthen economic, defense, and political standing of member states.

Active ImageTherefore, the void for a union of nations with common Persian roots is greatly felt as such a union can work to strengthen stability, cooperation, and sustainable peace in this part of the world.

Undoubtedly, all peoples living on the Iranian plateau, including Kurds, Turks, Taats, Tajiks, Pashtus, Baluches, Taleshis, Armenians, and Ossetians in Caucus share a common history, culture, and tradition and separation of various parts of the plateau in the past 196 years has been artificial and brought about by Russian and British colonialists. Therefore, establishment of a regional union of the Iranian plateau consisting of countries inheriting the Persian culture will lead to cultural and economic convergence among various peoples who have lived in coexistence through the history and share the same cultural and civilizational elements like Nowruz, Persian and other Aryan languages as well as common myths, culture and history.

There are eleven countries on this plateau including Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan as well as semi-autonomous regions in Iraqi Kurdistan and north Caucasus like Daghistan and Ossetia where peoples have lived through a common culture and history for thousands of years and have been separated in the past centuries due to colonialist intrigues.

Geopolitical, geo-cultural, geo-strategic, and geo-economic situation of Iran provide it with good grounds to play a pivotal role in the establishment of such a union.
During the past 196 years and though eight new countries have been born in south Russia, some on occupied parts of the Iranian territory, and despite the fact that the British colonialists have created two countries on the east of Iran, such changes have not been able to cut spiritual relations among those nations and those relations have been even consolidated in the past two decades. Empowerment of Iran can provide a good ground for the establishment of a union of countries on the Iranian plateau which share thousands of years of historical and cultural heritage.

Active ImageThe most important point is that establishment of a union does not mean that these countries should give up their independence and sovereign powers, the type of government and power structure, as well as their ethnic, linguistic, traditional or even religious origins and identities. They can remain independent in internal affairs while making changes to their political structures and focus on convergence grounds which exist in political, cultural, economic, and social fields. For example, joint investments, joint scientific programs, joint cultural plans, a common educational system up to higher education, lifting customs tariffs, facilitating exchange of citizens with no need to visa, a common tax system, a common banking and monetary system (single currency), a common labor market and relevant laws, security cooperation, a common tourism system, establishment of a single council to set foreign policy priorities of the union, establishment of a common parliament, conclusion of a common defense treaty and many other possibilities and modalities which have been already experienced by similar unions across the world can be also taken advantage of by this new union.

A major question raised by some non-Aryan inhabitants of the Iranian plateau is about the possible name of the union. Since the historical Iran encompasses all lands, peoples, and languages contained within the limits of the Iranian plateau and modern Iran is just part of that plateau such names as Union of the Iranian Plateau, Union of Southwest Asian Nations, Union of Countries Inheriting the Iranian Civilization, Union of Greater Iran, Aryana Union, or Union of Aryan Nations may elicit protests from one or more countries in the region stemming from their present geographical names or common languages spoken in those countries.

Therefore, international registration of Nowruz is a very good opportunity to propose “Nowruz Union” as the best name for such a union of Aryan countries on the Iranian plateau. In addition to reminding us of immense historical and cultural heritage which is shared by these countries, the name will be accepted by all eleven nations and other semi-autonomous regions and there would be no difference over it.
