The Iranian Embassy in China complains bitterly to the Chinese Foreign Ministry about Xinhua's frequent distortion of the Persian Gulf's name. The Embassy - in a letter of complaint to China's Foreign Ministry - called on Beijing to urge Chinese media to exercise discretion and to use the documented and long-established name of 'Persian Gulf' in their reports. The letter is the second letter of complaint sent to Chinese officials within four days. The Xinhua news agency has repeatedly used the term 'Gulf' instead of the full name of 'Persian Gulf' in its reports and news articles. |
