Iran Gained 9 Medals at the RoboCup 2008 Contest

Iran has demonstrated its advancements in robotic science on an international level, winning 9 medals at the RoboCup 2008 contest.

Iran gained three gold medals in the prestigious event held in China's Suzhou city. The Mecathermic Research Laboratory (MRL) of Qazvin Islamic Azad University received two gold medals in the 3D Competition of the Simulation League and the Technical Challenge of Middle Size Robot League at the RoboCup Soccer section.

The country's third gold medal was clinched by Sheikh Bahaei University in the Infrastructure Competition of the Rescue Simulation League at the RoboCup Rescue section.

Iranian students also succeeded in winning two silver medals, one in the Rescue Robot League and another in Best-in-Class-Mobility at the section.

Four bronze medals were received in Mixed Reality Competition of the Simulation League, Agent Competition of the Rescue Simulation League, the Rescue Robot League and Best-in-Class-Mobility at the RoboCup Rescue section.

Nearly 200 teams from 39 countries across the world participated in the international contest from July 14 to 20.
