US-Sponsored Annapolis Conference

Iran's Government Spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham has said the US-sponsored Annapolis conference will offer no result but disgrace.

The so-called Mideast summit is held in line with US efforts to support the usurping Zionist regime and regain its lost prestige, he opined.

It will have no impact on the legal efforts of the Palestinian people to return to their homeland, Elham told reporters at his weekly press conference Tuesday.

The Islamic Republic is unwilling to see the participation of Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia in the conference because of Iran's amicable ties with them, he said, adding the summit will damage the prestige of the US and its allies.

Elham stressed that the Palestinian case would not be settled in the absence of the Palestinians.
