The Adoption of Peaceful Nuclear Technology

Tuesday, December 18, 2007

President Ahmadinejad says Iran has earned a great reputation on the international scene by the adoption of peaceful nuclear technology.

The whole world is split into two camps over Iran's nuclear issue, one pro and the other against Tehran's program, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said.

He said the political phase of nuclear issue is "already behind us, which means nobody can claim anything out of the IAEA framework".

In the IAEA, dossiers are reviewed within the framework of laws and regulations, but outside the agency, the framework is determined by the power and expectations of the parties concerned, the chief executive analyzed.

Since two years ago, the West has been uttering the most severe threats against Iran, but now their policies toward Tehran have been reversed, Ahmadinejad noted.

The president said they thought that after their second resolution, the Iranian nation would have no choice but to retreat. "What actually happened was that at that very juncture we launched the industrial phase of our peaceful nuclear program," he said.

Ahmadinejad said that when the West was threatening to bomb Natanz, "we started to work in Natanz to show that we had made our choice and would insist on our position".
