Tehran rejects U.S. criticism of IAEA-Iran deal

Saturday, October 6, 2007
Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini rejected U.S. criticism of an agreement reached between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on solving the remaining issues regarding Iran's nuclear program.
Hosseini said while most of the countries welcomed the agreement, the U.S. adopted a critical approach which would not be constructive for the implementation of the new plan.
The spokesman urged the U.S. to respect the Iran-IAEA plan of action and to accept other realities such as Iran's right to pursue nuclear activities within the framework of the Non-Proliferation Treaty.
