Tehran Vocal Ensemble Receives Italian Festival Gold Medal

Active ImageThe Tehran Vocal Ensemble has received the gold medal of Italy's Riva del Garda international festival of choirs and orchestras.

Conducted by Milad Omranlou, the 16-member group performed Yeste Say and Carnival, pieces composed by Ali-Akbar Qorbani.

The Tehran Vocal Ensemble managed to gain 23 of the total 30 points in the festival, held from Oct. 9 to 11, and win the event's gold medal in the folklore section.

The group, which is set to participate in the 11th edition of Spain's International Folksong Choir Festival in Barcelona, has been awarded two medals at the 2009 World Choir Championship in Gyeognam, South Korea.
