Sharif University Ranks 3rd in Int’l Math Olympiad

Sharif University of Technology ranked third for the fourth consecutive year at the 15th International Students Mathematics Contests held in Bulgaria.

The 8-member team won seven gold medals and one bronze from among 90 teams from different world universities.

The Sharif University team comprised Nima Ahmadipour Anari, Mostafa Einollah Zadeh, Ali Khazali, Jaber Zare'zadeh, Behzad Mehrdad, Seyed Jalil Kazemi-Tabar and Omid Hatami (who won gold medals) and Mohammad Javad Moghaddam (who bagged the bronze medal). They were supervised by Dr. Arash Rastegar and his assistant Omid Mirsadeghi.

The 15th International Students Mathematics Olympiad was held in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria from July 25-31.

Sharif University mathematics team had stood first for the 22nd time in nationwide student math contests in Iran this year.

The international mathematics competition is organized by the University College London (UCL) and held annually at the end of July or the beginning of August.
