Sanctions and IAEA-Iran ties

A member of Iran's Parliament says further UN sanctions would undermine the cooperation between the Islamic Republic and the IAEA.

"The UN nuclear watchdog's positive report on Iran's nuclear issue has clarified all outstanding ambiguities regarding the plutonium contamination and P1 and P2 centrifuges," said Hamid-Reza Haji-Babaei

"Therefore, Iran's nuclear case should be removed from the UN Security Council's agenda," he added.

The Iranian MP denounced US efforts to exert pressure on Tehran based on unfounded allegations and urged the international community to oppose such pressures.

"Imposing further sanctions and resolutions will prompt Iran to reconsider its cooperation with the IAEA," he concluded.
