Monday, December 17, 2007

The 35th edition of the International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice 2007 has awarded its top prizes to three Iranian children.

Mobina Nabavi (4.5-year-old), Ali Qorban-Ali (5-year-old), and Taraneh Rasapur (6-year-old) received the Rose of Lidice prize, and 13 other Iranian participants were presented with the festival’s diploma of honor.

This year’s edition was devoted to the theme of sport.

The competition and exhibition were established to commemorate children from the Czech village of Lidice, who were murdered by Germans during World War II, and all other children who have died in wars.

The event has been taking place in the country regularly since the end of the 1960’s.
