Tuesday, November 6, 2007

Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini has stressed the importance of resolving the Iraq-Turkey issue through diplomacy.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran insists that Iraq and Turkey need to confront terrorist groups in a way that would cost the least," he said.

The spokesman stated that Baghdad and Ankara hold political consultations at different levels over the case, adding, "Iran believes that security talks between the two countries will be effective in settling the crisis in an appropriate manner."

"The United States is responsible for security in Iraq," he added.
