Qobadi One of the Young Global Leaders of 2008

The prominent Iranian filmmaker, Bahman Qobadi has been chosen as one of the Young Global Leaders of 2008 by the World Economic Forum.

Qobadi was selected for his cinematic accomplishments, commitment to society and potential to work towards a better future for the world.

A group of 31 international media leaders, including Thomas H. Glocer, the Chief Executive Officer of Reuters in the UK and Arthur Sulzberger, Chairman and Publisher of The New York Times chose the Young Global Leaders of 2008.

This year's Global Leaders include 121 figures, who have worked in various fields such as business, politics and media, from 65 countries.

The Forum of Young Global Leaders was established by Professor Klaus Schwab in 2004, in an attempt to address global challenges including health, education, environment, global governance and security, and development and poverty.

Bahman Qobadi has won numerous international awards including the best film award of the 52nd edition of the San Sebastian Film Festival for his Turtles Can Fly.
