During one and a half hours of surgery, Professor Samii managed to take a brain tumor out of the base of the skull without damaging other parts of the brain.

In another operation, he removed a vessel, which lied on nerves and caused nervous tics accompanying heartbeat, thus treating the patient.

Professor Samii noted that his goal was to develop new methods for treating brain and neurological diseases and increase cooperation between Iranian neurosurgeons and their counterparts in Germany and Europe.
