Mottaki lauds Iran-IAEA agreements

Saturday, October 6, 2007

Foreign Minister, Manouchehr Mottaki, has urged all parties to support Iran's recent agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency.

"As had been expected, the session of Group 5+1 postponed its decision on Iran's nuclear case pending the conclusion of the review currently undeway by the IAEA's Director General, Mohammad ElBaradei," he said.

"Given the agreement with the agency, which Dr. ElBaradei has described as an important step forward, there was no rational reason to adopt a different approach," he added.

The minister noted that, with the IAEA review currently underway, Iran's nuclear case was now in its most proper position.
