Khorassan Petrochemical Complex Wins World Energy Globe Award

Khorassan Petrochemical Complex won the World Energy Globe Award for optimization and economization of energy.

Managing Director of Khorassan Petrochemical Complex Assadollah Rastegarpour said in Bojnourd that the plaque of honor was awarded for replacing uranium cooling tower implosion site with surplus ammonia and determining indexes for energy consumption including water, electricity and gas.

The plaque of honor was signed by the European Union president and the Energy Globe Award director-general.

The Energy Globe Award chooses projects in the areas of economization, energy, water, earth, air and youth.

This year from among projects from 160 countries, Khorassan Petrochemical Complex received the international award of Energy Glob Award on May 26 at the European Union in Brussels.

More than 72,940 tons of ammonia, 106,501 tons of urea and 4,040 tons of melamine have been produced and marketed domestically and overseas during the current year.

Khorassan Petrochemical Complex is located 17 km from Bojnourd.
