Iranian Surgeons Perform Difficult Heart Surgeries

As endoscopic surgery in Iran is becoming more common, the country is standing among few advanced countries capable of complicated heart surgeries.

Such operations have been thus far carried out in Tehran and Shiraz. Heart surgery is carried out on cardiac valves without opening the sternum and with the help of video pictures.

The subsequent pain and disability of patients in endoscopic heart surgery is much lower than open heart surgery.

This type of surgery is only carried out for cardiac valves and to occlude the hole between two artia and has been carried out only in a few European and American countries.
