Iranian Professor Wins Royal Prize in Chemistry

The British Royal Society of Chemistry has awarded an Iranian professor of University of Gilan.

Dr. Reyhaneh Sariri, professor of University of Gilan, won the British Royal Society of Chemistry’s 2008 award for her paper on “Study of Antioxidant Effect of Fruits and Vegetables Special to Gilan.”

In her research, the Iranian scientist has studied antimicrobial properties of lavender as well as its antioxidant and anti-ageing effects on human cells.

Dr. Sariri is currently professor of chemistry at University of Gilan and member of the British Royal Society of Chemistry.

She has thus far published 7 books and presented 148 research papers at national and international magazines and conferences.
