Iranian Professor Wins 2009 PROSE Award

Active ImageSiamak Najjarian, faculty member of Amir Kabir University of Technology’s Faculty of Medical Engineering, has ranked the second in PROSE award ceremony for co-authoring one of the world’s top engineering books of 2009.

The book co-authored by Dr. Najjarian has been chosen as second best in international book competition for PROSE award, which is also known as “Book Oscar.”

The international book award known as PROSE (American Publishers Awards for Professional & Scholarly Excellence) has been given to authors of the best books in 40 scientific disciplines since 1976 on an annual basis.

This year and in engineering and technology group, two books were chosen as the best with Artificial Tactile Sensing in Biomedical Engineering published by McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc., ranking the second.

Dr. Siamak Najjarian is the main author of the book. He is full professor at Amir Kabir University of Technology and published the book in 2009.

Other authors of the book include Javad Dargahi and Ali Abouei Mehrizi.

Najjarian has also published another book in 2009 entitled Systems Biology and Bioinformatics: A Computational Approach which has been published in the United States by PROSE CRC Press.

Dr. Najjarian has thus far published more than 26 books at national and international levels some of which appear in English.
