Iranian Artists Win Special Prizes of Syrian International Cartoon Contest

Amin Montazeri, an Iranian artist who had taken part at the fourth international caricature competitions and exhibition of Syria, has won the event’s special prize.

During the competitions, Iranian artists won five prizes out of 800 artists who had taken part from different countries.

The free cartoon prize went to Iran’s Bahram Azimi who got the gold medal while Soda Jannatipour was awarded a bronze. In the culture and arts section, Payam Pourfallah from Iran won a silver while Amin Montazeri ranked the second in portrait cartoons section.

The exhibition also included culture and arts, free, portrait, and special art sections. The five-member jury consisted of judges from Brazil, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, and Iran.

Mohammad Amin Aqaei from Iran was among the jury.

The exhibition aimed to highlight human values and denounce expansionism and massacre of nations by colonialist powers in Palestine, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
