Monday, June 30, 2008

An Iranian artist has won the 3rd prize at the Kyoto International Cartoon Contest which aims to promote the Kyoto climate change protocol.

Shahrokh Heidari, a prominent cartoonist in his native Iran, came third in the international contest which brought together a collection of illustrations drawn in the spirit of the G8 climate change summit.

The contest was designed to raise the awareness of the public and of governments alike on the critical issue of global warming.

The event's slogan read “There is no time left! We must obey the Kyoto Protocol to halt Global Warming”.

Martin Honeysett, England's renowned cartoonist and illustrator, took the first prize at the international contest.
