Iran won't give up nuclear right

President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said that Tehran will not give up its peaceful atomic energy program.

Ahmadinejad made the remarks on Saturday in an interview with Algerian newspaper El Watan before a three-day visit to fellow OPEC-member Algeria, slated for August 6.

" ran has not demanded more than its right to nuclear energy. We are not ready to give up a single inch of this right," he said.

He added, "We will continue our efforts within the framework of international law. I can say that Iran is a nuclear state."
