The Chairman of Iran's Expediency Council has urged Muslims to stay alert as the Middle East is facing major threats at the moment.

Rafsanjani referred to unity as the key to problems as well as the means to confront the enemies' attempts to foment discord in the region.

The cleric noted that ethnic and religious diversity in Iran would contribute to its stability, stressing Islamic unity and national solidarity should serve as complementary rather than divisive factors.
