Iran supports enrichment right plans

Saturday, October 20, 2007

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini has said that Iran would support plans guaranteeing its uranium enrichment right.

Pointing to a plan put forward by Switzerland on a simultaneous suspension of Iran's uranium enrichment and of UN sanctions, he added that Iran has held regular talks on the issue with Swiss officials.

Iran has considered the Swiss plan. Tehran's stance is based on continuation of peaceful nuclear activities under supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)," he said.

If the US and certain European countries intend to deprive Iran of its rights by adopting resolutions (on imposing sanctions against the country), they will never obtain their goal," the spokesman stated.
