Iran's Twelve Proposals

Iran's President Ahmadinejad has put forward twelve proposals to the PGCC leaders which aim at enhancing ties among the regional countries.

"We can turn the Persian Gulf into the gulf of peace and friendship forever," Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said.

The proposals included joint investments in the oil and gas sectors, plans for free trade among the Persian Gulf countries, and the provisions of water and gas to the PGCC member states.

Ahmadinejad also called for the activation of the North-South Corridor, promotion of the regional tourism, and cooperation among the Persian Gulf states to help the Islamic nations and weak countries.

Iran's President also proposed to establish a security cooperation organization, enhancing educational, scientific, and technological interactions among the regional countries and also aimed to preserve the Persian Gulf and the Oman Sea environment.
