Iran's Peaceful Nuclear Activities

Monday, December 3, 2007

Iran has carried out its peaceful nuclear activities based on regulations, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini has said.

"Iran's diplomatic body expends effort to prevent new resolutions against Iran. The Islamic Republic has striven to adopt legal stances and cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency in line with international treaties," Hosseini said.

He stated that Iran has expressed its definite stance to various countries and expanded its cooperation with the IAEA because it regards the agency as the only authorized international body to discuss nuclear cases.

The spokesman noted that based on an agreement already reached between Iran and the IAEA, Tehran has raised different issues one by one, several of which have already been settled, he said.

"We expect the EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana to present his report to the 5+1 Group (Russia, China, France, Britain and the US plus Germany) in light of a technical and legal basis," Hosseini said.
