Iran's N-case in 'technical phase'

Saturday, October 20, 2007

Iran's FM says President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad meant that Iran's nuclear case has entered a technical phase when he said it was closed.

"President Ahmadinejad meant that considering the recent cooperation between Iran and the IAEA, the political issues have ended and the case has entered a technical phase. Of course the files of all countries are open at the IAEA and the cooperation between these countries and the IAEA continues," Manouchehr Mottaki said.

"Last year, the economic indices of Iran showed an improvement, so the sanctions have had no impact on the country," he added.

Mottaki also rejected the recent US allegations that Iran is meddling in Iraq's internal affairs saying that "no country will benefit from peace and security in Iraq like Iran and no country will incur losses more than Iran if Iraq is insecure. "
