Iran: Do not hinder N-talks

Saturday, October 20, 2007

Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, has warned the West not to hinder Iran- IAEA nuclear negotiations.

Larijani referred to the attempts by certain western powers to adopt another resolution against Iran, warning that Iran-IAEA talks would fail if any illogical step had been taken.

He added such a move would have a negative impact on the cooperation between Iran and the UN nuclear watchdog.

Larijani said, during the three rounds of talks with EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana, the two sides developed a rational plan that paves the way for mutual understanding.

The Iranian senior official warned that any harsh decision by the West would provoke reactions by Iran and reverse the current trend.

He added the third round of Iran-IAEA talks is aimed at finalizing a framework to solve the remaining issues regarding Iran's nuclear program.
