The relations between Iran and European Union have developed following the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and Tehran had good relations with Europe at all levels, Iranian deputy foreign minister emphasized.

Iranian deputy foreign minister Abbas Araghchi made the remarks at a seminar titled “International Nuclear Cooperation: Progress and Prospect” which has been held in Isfahan on Tuesday as part of the third round of high-level talks between Iran and EU.

During the seminar, Araghchi said, “JCPOA was signed in April 2013 and one of the most important topics which Iran has discussed with Europe is energy. The issues of oil and gas are also strengthening the relations”.

"We have contracts and progressing cooperation with Total and after this meeting we will hold another seminar in this field," he added.

"The issues of nuclear safety and nuclear medicine are very important and the Iranian foreign ministry supports cooperation with Europe in this field. We have expert-level discussions to reach a peaceful understanding of these issues," Araghchi went on to say.

"I thank the Europeans for their position on the JCPOA. I hope to make a profit from the agreement. Iran is committed to the nuclear deal and the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency confirms that. Iran and Europe can develop good relations," he said.

Meanwhile the spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Behrouz Kamalvandi said, “Iran is determined to gradually boost international cooperation with the European Union in the nuclear industry according to the JCPOA”.

He stressed the need for the international community to protect the JCPOA, saying that Iran will keep honoring the deal as long as the other parties comply with the obligations in the text and spirit of the nuclear accord.
