Further Sanctions Would be Futile

Iran says it will not halt its uranium enrichment under pressure from the West, even if the UNSC decides to impose further sanctions.

Top Iranian nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili said further sanctions would be futile.

Jalili said it was up to the West if it wants to ignore Tehran's 'positive' cooperation with the IAEA.

He added that the West, however, would have to face international criticism over its hostile policies toward Iran.

Jalili said the report paved the road for further nuclear cooperation between Tehran and the international community.

“The Islamic Republic welcomes further nuclear negotiations,” he continued.
