Dialog Iran's core nuclear policy

Monday, October 29, 2007

New Iranian chief negotiator underlines country's determination to resolve nuclear issue via dialog, ruling out change in policies.

"Finding new ways to remove misunderstandings through dialog is our core policy," Saeed Jalili said.
"The visit [to Italy and Germany] had a message for all countries: that there is just one approach in Iran toward the nuclear issue. Mr. Larijani [former chief negotiator] has traveled down the correct path so far and we will follow in the same footsteps…" stressed Jalili.

He termed 'very constructive' his *negotiation with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, stressing that both sides have a desire to hold talks.

"Today, Americans have been isolated even among their allies due to their stance," the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council stated.

On the new US sanctions, Jalili said, "These sanctions are nothing new. Sanctions have been imposed on us for 28 years. The new sanctions, like all those before, will have no affect on Iran's policies."
