Changing Behavior towards Iran

Monday, December 24, 2007

Chairman of Iran's Assembly of Experts Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani has called on the West to change its behavior towards Iran.

The senior cleric warned that the West's hostile approach to Iran is of no use and it would only undermine the spirit of amity in the world.

He added Iran is a responsible country which is after peace not tension.

"US policies have backfired in Afghanistan and Iraq; Washington should know that Iran would be a more difficult challenge for it,” the former president said.

He added that US officials supposed that they could exert pressure on Iran through laying siege to it, but they themselves have been mired in a quagmire and became vulnerable.

The Iranian senior cleric also called on Christian leaders not to allow anybody to insult Islam in the West as Muslims never insult other religions.
