Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant will Become Operational Next Summer

Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki has said that the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant would be inaugurated in the summer of 2008.

"The Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant will become operational next summer, at 50 percent capacity," Mottaki said.

He added that after completion of eight rounds of nuclear fuel delivery to the power plant, as promised by Russia, ground would be prepared for its operation within the framework of the agreements reached between Tehran and Moscow.

Iran and Russia enjoy good economic cooperation, he said adding that the value of trade between the two countries showed a 100 percent boost in 2007 in comparison with the previous year because both sides' views have changed from 'security' to 'mutual interests'.

Mottaki said that the two countries also have an appropriate level of military cooperation, adding, "We see no problem in our military cooperation with Russia."
