Belgrade Illustration Biennial Award for Iranian Artist

Active ImageIranian artist Ghazaleh Bigdelou has received the first prize of the 45th edition of the Belgrade International Illustration Biennial.

Bigdelou received the Golden Pen Award for illustrating the book Repartee written by Marjan Keshavarzi-Azad.

Works by 28 Iranian book illustrators were also included in the biennial's catalogue and Kambiz Kakavand received an honorary diploma.

Farshid Shafiee, Alireza Goldouzian, Anahita Teimourian, Fereshteh Najafi, Afra Nobahar, Atieh Bozorg-Sohrabi, Ali Bouzari, Banafsheh Erfanian, Ali Mafakheri and Azadeh Madani are among the Iranian artists whose works were published in the catalogue.

The 2007 winner of the Belgrade biennial's Golden Pen Award Hoda Haddadi was a member of the 2009 jury. Her works were also displayed on the sidelines of this year's biennial.
