A celebration in his honor and a presentation about teaching by Akbari will be held on Wednesday, April 14 at 7 p.m. in the NEIU Recital Hall.

Iran's Mahmoud Azadnia has received the second award of the 2010 PortoCartoon World Festival, organized by the Portuguese Printing Press Museum. Iranian writer and illustrator Hoda Haddadi has received honorary mention at the Bologna Children's Book Fair for her latest illustrated book Two Friends. Iranian calligraphers won awards in the Nastaliq Section of the 8th International Calligraphy Competition.

Active ImageAn Iranian has created a novel form of engineered graphene that exhibits hydrogen storing capacity far exceeding any other known material.  The new method developed by Javad Rafeie, a doctoral student in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at New York’s Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, can play a key role in solving the world’s dependency on fossil fuels.
