Active ImageUsing semiconductor nanowires, researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, have developed a pressure-sensitive electronic material that could one day give new meaning to the term “thin-skinned.” The artificial skin, dubbed “e-skin” by the researchers, is the first such material made out of inorganic single crystalline semiconductors.

Two Iranian cartoonists have been awarded and praised at the 3rd edition of the Red Man International Cartoon and Humor Contest held in China. The 2010 edition of Bulgaria's Varna International Film Festival has awarded Light in the Fog directed by Iranian filmmaker Panahbarkhoda Rezaei. The Sorbonne University is set to grant an honorary doctorate to world-renowned Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami for his lifelong cinematic activities. The 2010 PSA International Exhibition of Photography recently honored a number of Iranian photographers with gold, silver and bronze medals.

Active ImageIranian artist Mostafa Aqamiri has been awarded at the 4th edition of the Sharjah Biennial for the Art of Arabic Calligraphy held in the United Arab Emirates. Iran's Mohammad-Ali Khalaji has won the first prize of the 2nd International Comic Artist Conference (ICC) awards on the theme of 'The Rapprochement of Cultures.' Iranian puppet designer Sima Mirza-Hosseini has been granted Canada's 2010 Arlyn Award for creating the puppets for the Arash puppet play. Iranian productions received two international awards at Portugal’s Avanca Film Festival that took place from July 23 to August.

Iran Ranks 5th In 2010 Chemistry Olympiad

The Iranian team comprised Mohammad Reza Amirmoshiri from Tabriz, Hussein Dadashazar from Tehran, and Hanieh Safari and Amir Hossein Nasseri from Karaj.
