Iranian optometrist Mehran Zarei Ghanavati was celebrated the best eye specialist in the world exam of the International Council for Optometry. Iran's national computer team has achieved the 13th place in the world computer Olympiad, which was held in Pattaya, Thailand. Iran won five medals at the 42nd International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) and four medals at the 22nd International Biology Olympiad. Renowned Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi's Nader and Simin: A Separation has been awarded at the 2011 edition of Sydney Film Festival. Five Iranian cartoonists were awarded at the 1st Gold Panda International Cartoon and Illustration Competition which was held in Guangxi City, China. Iranian photojournalist Hossein Fatemi has been awarded by the 2010 China International Press Photo Contest (CHIPP) for his pictures of Afghan victims of landmine. The Iranian film “Please Don’t Disturb” brought first international award for Iranian cinema at the beginning of the Iranian New Year at the Fribourg International Film Festival.
