A team of three Iranian inventers has won the top award of the 2011 edition of Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF) held in the South Korean capital. An Iranian scholar Dr. Saied Yousefi, a faculty member at the University of Tehran, won 2011 best peer-reviewed paper award from American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). A team of young Iranian inventers have been awarded at the 2011 edition of the International Middle East Inventions Exhibition held in Kuwait. The French government bestowed the Chevalier of the Order of Academic Palms to Iranian theater scholar Professor Ahmad Kamyabi Mask. Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi's Nader and Simin: A Separation has been awarded at the 2011 edition of Goa International film festival (IFFI). The international film magazine, Sight and Sound has selected Asghar Farhadi's A Separation as the second best film of the year. IMESS Inaugurates Its First Visiting Research Fellows Program

Director Kayhan Barzegar inaugurates the first Visiting Research Fellow Program at the Institute for Middle East Strategic Studies (IMESS) in Tehran. In his introductory remarks, Dr. Barzegar maintains that the Institute’s Visiting Research Fellow Program is for the first time designed in Iran to fulfill the existing gap between academic and policy-making communities in research areas, as well as training a new generation of Middle East experts. To achieve this aim, "we need to strengthen and focus on “professionalism”, “internationalism”, and “indigenous views” in Iran’s foreign policy and international relations studies."
