Iranian illustrator Morteza Zahedi has been awarded at the COW International Design Festival held in the Ukrainian city of Dnipropetrovsk. Two veteran Iranian illustrators have been honored at the 2012 Bologna Children's Book Fair held under the title, “The ‘rights’ place for children's content.” Iranian artist Mohsen Abbas-Ghorbani has won the top award of the 2012 edition of Tiburon International Film Festival (TIFF) poster contest in the United States. Iranian photographer Arash Karimi won the PSA Gold Medal at the New Photo Vision, an international exhibition of photography in Serbia. Iranian feature-length and short films have been awarded at the 2012 edition of the International Digital Film Festival (IDFF) in India. Internationally-acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi's Nader and Simin: A Separation has won the Oscar for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 84th Academy Awards: "At this time, many Iranians all over the world are watching us and I imagine them to be very happy. Iranian scientist Professor Ardeshir Qavamzadeh has won the 2012 award of the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR). An Iranian professor Babak Amir Parviz from the University of Washington managed to design electronic contact lenses with glucose sensor, capable of monitoring blood sugar levels wirelessly.
