Iran ranks among the 10 leading countries of the world in nanotechnology, an Iranian researcher said, adding that the country also ranks first in the Middle-East in the field. “Final Whistle”, an Iranian drama on social and private life interactions, was crowned best film at the International Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg in Germany. “The Rooster Trademark Paper” by the Iranian director Maryam Milani won a special prize at the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival. The Iranian film “The Last Days of Winter” won top prize at the Escales Documentaires, an international documentary festival, which was held from November 5 to 13 in La Rochelle, France. The Iranian graphic designer Mehdi Mehdian won the special jury prize at the Trnava Poster Triennial (TPT) in Slovakia. Iranian students have swept 10 medals at the 6th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) in Latin American country of Brazil. Nima Arkani-Hamed, a scientist of Iranian heritage at Institute for Advanced Study, is among 9 scientists receiving the biggest Prize in Theoretical Physics of $3,000,000 each.
